What is a Heavy Gage Cut-To-Length Plate Line?
The drive for efficiency has extended into every facet of coil production. Today, plate material typically starting at .315” (8 mm) all the way up to 1” (25.4 mm) thick is produced as coiled material by the mills. A Heavy Gage Plate Line will uncoil this thick material, level it, and then cut it to the required length and stack it. The end product produced by a Heavy Gage Cut-To-Length Plate Line is a flat sheet of thick plate material. At this end of the coil processing scale, large robust built machines are required. The thickness range, grades, yield and tensile strengths of the materials, the length of the sheets to be produced, as well as stack weights and annual volume to be processed all influence the line configuration and capabilities required for a successful installation.
